Weston's Intestines

Can you believe I didn't realize that Weston rhymes with intestine until about two weeks ago? If anyone struggles remember which one had the bigger problems, remember it rhymes. So, just a quick update on how Weston is doing. He came home eating 68 mL (just over two ounces) every three hours with a very fine balance between getting enough nutrition and getting so much that his system couldn't handle it, stooling it out, and getting dehydrated (because his poop is like diarrhea). He couldn't eat what he wanted so he was hungry a lot. We slowly increased his feeds over the next three weeks or so. We had a GI appointment last week and he's doing so well he can now eat whatever he wants. The doctor said to treat him like a "normal baby!!" So he's handling larger amounts of food and still hardly stooling much at all!! Yay for poop! We thought he'd be on IV food for several years and now he's "normal!!" Love him!

There are a few more posts below with tons of pictures.

It's a little informational class about dealing with short bowel syndrome. :)

Enjoy those sweet little boys!
